Enter your addresses on our home page and click the 'get a quote' button. Complete the online quote form and get your free instant quote.

If you're happy with the quote, you can instantly book your move securely online. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Snapscan.

Alternatively, you can request contact and we'll call you back to discuss your move details.

What's included in the quote?

Included in your quote:

-price includes all fuel, tolls and taxes

-Goods-in-transit insurance of up to R400,000 in the event of total loss (see Ts&Cs)

-TMT Guarantee: our promise to you that if we conclude that we are responsible for damaging any item or property, we'll fix or replace it, free of charge (see Ts&Cs)

-a bookings coordinator will help you plan your move to make sure everything goes smoothly on the day

-friendly expert movers who arrive on time

-reliable and clean truck 

-furniture covered in protective packing blankets for transportation

-mattress sleeves to protect matresses and keep them clean

-furniture securely tied in vehicle for its protection

-disconnect/connect washing machine/dishwasher

-remove/reattach doors if needed to safely move furniture through

-optional extras such as box packing, protective wrapping, hoisting, dismantling-reassembly, and box delivery.

How much do you charge for a move?

The quote for a move is based on the unique circumstances of the job. You can get a free, instant and accurate quote by completing our online quote form. If you're happy with the quote it's easy to book from there.

The quote on our website is all-inclusive.

Two Men and a Truck clients also benefit from Goods-in-Transit insurance and our one-of-a-kind TMT guarantee at no additional charge (See T's&C's).

Do you do moves in my area?

We currently service the following areas:

*Cape Town and the Western Cape

*Johannesburg, greater Gauteng and surrounds

Currently, we unfortuantely do not offer moves in any other provinces, or between provinces.

Do you do long distance moves to other provinces?

Our current service areas are as follows:

Do you sell moving boxes?
Need moving boxes? Good news!
 
We sell quality pre-used single wall boxes. We deliver to your home or you can collect from our facilities in Woodstock. The best part is that you can sell those high quality boxes back to us (currently only available in Cape Town)! This is great news for the environment and great for your pocket, too.
 
How it works:
Order your boxes through our website and pay via card or EFT.
We'll contact you to arrange delivery or collection, depending on which option you chose.
Pack your boxes for your move and enjoy a hassle-free move with TMT.
After the move, contact our Bookings Coordinators to arrange a day and time for you to drop off the boxes. Remember, we’ll only take the boxes that are still in excellent condition.
We will contact you for your bank details so we can pay you for the boxes.
Sit back and wait for the money to reflect in your account!
 
Can I keep the boxes?
Yes, once you buy them they’re yours. 
 
Do you buy boxes that I didn’t get from you guys?
Yes, if you got boxes from somewhere else we will buy them from you at the price listed in the table below. We will inspect any box and if we like it, we’ll buy it.
 
Do I have to have a move booked with Two Men and a Truck to buy or sell boxes?
No, we sell to and buy from anyone.
 
What is a box in ‘excellent condition’?
This is a box that is as good as new. So no tears, rips, holes, punctures, or deformities. It must be clean and strong, with firm sides and solid structure. It must be able to protect precious goods. It will be up to our staff to inspect the boxes and decide whether we will accept them. 
 
Can I pay cash or receive money back in cash?
Payment is via card through our website or EFT, only. Once you drop the boxes off, the EFT payment process will be initiated and you can expect the funds to reflect after a few days.

Terms:
Payment must reflect in our account before collection.
Box collection and drop off by appointment only.
Payment for the boxes you sell to us will only happen after we receive your bank details and have selected which boxes of yours we want.
Sizes given are only approximate and we cannot guarantee an exact size.
Please make sure you don’t leave without your receipt.
Courier service is subject to availability.  Please make sure you are at the collection location to meet our courier team. Extra charges may apply if we are unable to collect the boxes at the scheduled time.
What services do you offer?

Services include:

-just moving items to or from your garage or within your home (no transport required)

-special moving services: box packing, protective wrapping, hoisting, dismantling-reassembly, box delivery.

Do you offer special services like box packing, dismantling or hoisting, etc?

Our optional special services include:

Box packing

We will pack your boxes for you, either on the day of your move or the day before.

Box unpacking

We will unpack your boxes for you in your new home.

Bubble wrapping / protective plastic wrapping

We will wrap your precious and fragile items to protect them from damage during transport.

Dismantling / reassembly

We can dismantle and reassemble items that are too big to fit in the lift or stairs.

Hoisting

We use ropes to raise or lower items from the balcony that are too big to fit in the lift or stairs.

Box / moving products delivery

We can deliver boxes and other packing products to you before your move so that you can pack your own goods.

Box / moving products collection

Collect boxes and moving products from our Woodstock, Cape Town location before your move so that you can pack your own goods.

Will there only be two men for my move?

Flatbed truck:

There will be two men on the flatbed truck. Please note that any item too heavy to be easily carried and loaded by two men will not be moved.

Closed truck:

If you select the large closed truck option, there will be 3,4,5 or 6 men depending on the size of the move and the other moves scheduled for that day.

Please let your booking coordinators know if any item is particularly heavy and requires more than 2 men to easily carry and load it onto the truck.

How should I treat my team of movers?

- Be respectful and polite.

- Make sure furniture is ready to be moved and boxes are packed, sealed and ready before the team arrives.

- Make sure things are well organised and boxes are numbered so everything can be quickly and seamlessly moved onto the truck.

- Arrange for kids and pets to go to a relative or day care or keep them out of the way so they don't get stepped on.

- Treat the men to cool drinks and light snacks - moving is hard work!

- Tip them if you feel they have delivered excellent service.

- Show consideration to the next customer and help to make things progress as quickly as possible so the guys can be on time for the next customer.

 

- Don't ask them to do anything dangerous that may result in injury or damage.

- Don't ask them to work in a hazardous or unhealthy environment, such as on slippery floors or rooms with noxious fumes from fresh paint.

- Don't ask them to remove safety gear, such as shoes.

- Don't ask them to rearrange furniture in different configurations, if you did not specifically request this at least 48 hours before your move - the guys have another move to get to.

Are my goods covered by insurance during the move?

We offer two levels of protection for your goods:

 

1) Goods-in-transit Insurance up to a value of R400,000 in the event of total loss (fire, hijacking, accident)

 

2) TMT Guarantee

Our promise to you that if we conclude that we are responsible for damaging an item or property we will fix or replace it. We are the only moving company to provide such a guarantee to our customers. Free of charge. It’s a way for us to stand behind the work that we do. Please note with regard to our guarantee, we are self-insured, meaning we pay out of pocket for fixing and replacing items. As we damage so few items this is the most efficient way for us to provide this guarantee.

 

Should you require additional insurance please contact your household insurance provider.

 

It's vital that you read our T's&C's as not all types of goods and types of damage are covered by insurance.

For example, items wrapped in protective wrapping or items packed in boxes by anyone other than our staff aren't covered by insurance as we have no way of knowing whether the item was damaged before we arrived.
