Being organised makes all the difference to your move experience. Previously, we addressed the need to start early and purge your home of unused items. When it comes to packing, most of your goods should be packed into boxes for transport. Boxes protect your goods from damage and make the moving process faster and easier. If you’re wondering how many boxes you’ll need check out this article.
Labeling boxes is a professional way to get organised and can save you a lot of hassle.
Here is an example of a common format we find useful:
Kitchen ⅕ (pots and pans)
You can see from the example that there are 3 pieces of information.
1) The room. This helps the movers know where to put boxes to make it easier for you to unpack.
2) Box number/number of boxes for this room. You and your movers can easily check that all boxes are present and accounted for.
3) Item Description. This is useful during the unpacking process or if you need to find something fast.
Getting organised can save you a lot of time and frustration, so you can enjoy your new home. Knowing the contents of a box from a glance at the label is a game changer. See our post Top Moving Tip: #4 Quality Materials for more about boxes and other moving products.
