In the chaos of preparing for a move, we usually don’t think about things that aren’t urgent.
Updating your address details is not usually the first thing we think of when planning for a move. It is an important step though. We suggest updating your address with the various people, organisations and institutions you’re connected to 1-4 weeks before your move.
We’re not going to lie; this task is tedious. With a little planning, though, you can complete it in one go and get it out of the way.
Make a list with 3 columns for who needs to be told of your new address. Below we give a list of examples to help you with yours.
Social Circle
Family
Friends
School lift club
Religious institution
Clubs and societies
Subscriptions and services
Newspapers/ Magazines

Your list will vary based on your situation but the above should give you a good idea of where to start. Tick items off as you go. Those ticks can be a motivator to help you get a rather dry-but-necessary task complete. The quicker it's done the sooner you can start enjoying your new home.
